-----------
Greetings from sunny Minneapolis, Minnesota (usually this would be somewhat of a joke, but for real it's like 65 and sunny). I just got back to the US from my mini escapade through Prague with Amanda. It was such a fun trip but it was too short! Ha.
So with that being said, Prague is a pretty awesome city. Actually, it's really awesome! Very pretty and lots of history to it. However, the one negative about the city would have to be the customer service. Literally, I've never experienced worse customer service collectively for a city. The waiters were just rude and anti-friendly, but they don't work for tips so I suppose that plays into it. All that being said, I loved Prague. It was probably my second favorite European city I've ever been to, behind Moscow.
Well, I'm tired of rambling so I'm just going to put up some pictures with some brief captions. Enjoy!
This is the POWDER TOWER. One of the original entrances to the Old Town.
This was a church by our hotel. Not sure of the name and I have no fun-facts about it.
This is big clock tower located on the Old Town Square.
This is the ASTRONOMICAL CLOCK. Built in 1410, it is the oldest continuous working astronomical clock in the world. Also, it is nearly impossible to read :-)
A view of the PRAGUE CASTLE and the Vltava River.
Here is a shot of ST. VITUS CATHEDRAL. It is a humongous church that is on the castle grounds.
The front facade of the cathedral. Pretty sweet right?
Inside the cathedral with a picture of my tour guide looking up information :-)
Okay, so switching it up a bit...here is a view of the city from atop the Astronomical Clock. That is another huge church called CHURCH OF OUR LADY BEFORE TYN.
Okay, here is a view of the castle and the city from the clock tower.
A picture of the two travelers from atop the clock tower :-)
This was one of my favorite sights in Prague, THE LENNON WALL. It was just really cool to look at and read the different graffiti.
...all you need is love.
Note the unicorn in the center vomiting a rainbow...nothing else says peace like that!
Another picture of Amanda and I on a bench in "our park" ;-)
A picture (that Amanda didn't know I was taking) of her with the CHARLES BRIDGE and the Vltava River in the background.
And finally, we made some friends on Wednesday night in a little bar. Jestine (from Poland) and Colin (from Ireland). Good times!
Well there is a short picture tour of Prague. I hope you enjoyed looking at the photos!!!
Peace.
